The rabbits who caused all the trouble

At first, I thought that this story was so cute. I didn't suspect that it would be a metaphor for the world war 2. The wolves who were blaming natural disasters on others are so illogical. They wanted to solve the problem without prove. The rabbits are so stupid for believing in the other animals and not thinking for themselves. In my opinion, it might be that the wolves had been told by their ancestors that the rabbits caused the troubles.

So, I'm going to talk about the review of the story. These are some of the observations based on what we think. The first observation is that all the animals are living in a civilized society because they would have eaten each other in real life, this reflects to how we as Malaysians are also different but we still live together peacefully. The next ob is how easily it is to blame others without evidence and the power of rumors and beliefs. This reflects reality where it is easy to believe what other people say and how it can affect someones life. moving on, the wolves are like Pinocchio, because their lives are full of lies.they created an evil plan to frame the rabbits,as they are not supposed to hurt each other, but because they are carnivores eating rabbits is the only way for them to live. Another observation is the rabbits are like sheep because they listen and follow what other pp told them to do.moving on, the last observation is the rabbits died. Which we can relate to real life, when you do something that other tell y to do and not what you want, you'll die.not literally dying but your heart will die and you wont be happy or satisfied with your life.because you are living in a lie.just like the rabbits.

This is a short modern fable written by James Thurber.

Key events :

- Many of the wolves died because of natural disasters.

- They blamed the rabbits and threatened them to civilize them. So, the rabbits decided to flee.

- Other animals told them to be brave and said “This is no world for escapists”.

- The wolves decided to imprison the rabbits, “for their own good” and claimed that they ate them.

Problems that we found:

  • Why is it well known that the rabbits are the cause of all

the natural disasters that happen around the wolf’s habitat?

  • Why is there no world for escapists?

  • There are “other animals” to eat, why rabbits?

  • How can lettuce-eaters cause lightning?

In the first line of the passage, it says “within the memory of the youngest child”.

  • It is a figment of a child’s imagination.

  • It may be a family situation at home that triggered the child.

  • It could be a dispute between the youngest child and their siblings.

  • The parents could be the other animals, telling the rabbits which are the children that they must be brave and they will come to aid.

  • A fight might happen between the child and their siblings.

  • Youngest child maybe loses.

  • This leaves the child scared.

  • When confronted, the older siblings might say they are standing on the higher ground
