Assignment 3: Video Production
WEEK 9: Storyboard presentation
In this week, we started discussing about the angles of filming and prepared 2 different storyboards. One of the storyboard is in documentary style, the other is in story telling style. I learned that when we work together, it is much more effective and we can share our ideas, play around with different scenarios and create an amazing story of our own. The reason why we stared with a mysterious theme is because one of our group member loves watching mysterious documentaries from Netflix. We then connected it to horror movies and stared up our journey to uncover and make up a crime scene. We got really good feed back from Mr Charles and he suggested us to add a little more hint to who the murderer was.
WEEK 10: MAKING AND PREPARATION OF PROPS
This week we prepared the props required for the film. Our group came to my house and we bought fake sunflowers and made fake blood. First, we tried to make the bloody water with watercolor paint, but it didn't look realistic enough, so we decided to use red food coloring. We also painted bloody words on paper and stuck it on the wall. I think we did a pretty great job and everything looked so realistic.
Other than that, we also wrote on yellow sticky notes and tidied the bedrooms that were going to be filmed. We also did some paint trails on the floor with poster color.
WEEK 11: FILMING VIDEO
WEEK 12: Editing Video
This week we continued to film in my house. We took photos for film purposes and went to print it out in the photo shop. The filming progress was quite fast and we finished in 3 hours. Mainly because we can shoot at least 3 tries and got the best one from it. I really enjoyed this filming project because it made us see our potential in generating ideas out of the blue.
Video editing was quite hard because Rebecca and I have different video editing software’s on our laptop. I used Filmora and she used Imovie. Overall, we had separated and organised our parts and the video turned out great. I was the narrator for the film and I had several tries and practice to make my voice sound extra scary and creepy. Tried my best, hope it's good enough >.<
